Remember the first time you really got sucked in to an old story? I’m not talking Dr. Seuss or ‘Timmy goes to the Seaside’…I’m talking of a tale both beautiful and horrible, something that echoes back through history and taps into some primal need for fear and magic?
With the Henson’s of this world dying out and the Meyers in full swing there is a small army working hard to put together a potent reminder to the world of the enchantment and intoxication to be found in the echoes from the past.
Update 3/9/12 - We made the City Weekly’s Top Ten List of Fringe Shows: http://www.thecityweekly.com.au/story/346106/melbourne-fringe-festival-top-cuts/
Update 21/8/12 -Tickets are on sale now! Get them while they’re hot Ladies and Gentlemen!
Update 9/8/12 – Personally I’m having a blast. Speaking compeitions this week, a Pirate-related storytelling session in the works and sewing stories and geeky little folklore references into a my storytelling jacket. As a whole the Red Bird troupe is growing in leaps and bounds, with more insanely talented people coming out of the woodwork to add their craft to our already fabulous show.
Rehersals are going fabulously and feel more like play than work…if only everything in life was this fun! *eyes her tax that still needs to be done*
Update 25/7/12 – Faster! Faster! We’re speeding along in leaps and bounds – and everything is coming out ten times better than we thought. After a jam night storytelling with the band we’re all pumped to get this show on stage…and possibly other mediums too….(shh…didn’t hear it from me…secret, secret). Get onboard our Facebook page, facebook event and twitter to keep in the loop.
1/6/12 – And the project just keeps getting bigger and bigger! A rolling stone may gather no moss, but apparently a good tale will gather every artist, designer, musician and otherwise within hearing distance to add their own spin on the production. Stay tuned (you need to wait until I calm down) for details of some of the amazing people joining us on our twisted path through the woods.
